The two different units are different idle speeds. The green one is virtually worthless as it does not correct the idle speed until it drops to about 700 rpm. The black unit starts to work at ~800 rpm. The were used in different years. The accessory load has nothing to do with which unit the van was equipped with.

I have an '85 Westy. I replaced the idle stabilzer as part of some trouble shooting I did a year or so ago. I noticed the new one was a different color than the old one, but didn't think much about it at the time. Now I hear there are two different idle speed versions, green and black? I assume the Digijets with A/C, P/S and more accesories? got the higher speed unit, which is black? I will put my old one back on some time when I get a chance. (It was not the problem I was trying to fix.) Before I do this, can anyone shed some light on this?

Jay
