Doug, I do not believe that it is water that is causing your problem as most people bleed there systems every two years and you are already doing it every 9 months. The idea that there is too much pressure has merit but I would expect that it would also effect the mastercylinder as well, in time. Is it possible that the slave cylinder is being driven too far so that the piston is being pushed beyond its specified distance thus causing the premature failure. If this is the case you make consider checking the thrust of the master cylinder. The other explanation for this condition may be that the clutch is wearing thin and the slave cylinder is positioned out too far before the disengaging extension. I would hope someone on the list could ferrit out an answer here. Maybe a good place to start is to measure how much your slave cylinder piston travels out when fully extended? regards gary --- doug.alcock@hewitt.com wrote: > > > Hi Gary, > > The Slave is leaking --- since I don't change > it myself I don't know if > it's a consistent failure and my mechanic who has > changed the last two didn't > comment. Hi gang,

I just had my clutch slave cylinder replace for the 3rd time since July of 2000 ---- so I got about 9 months out of each one. While they were all under warranty it seems to me that something else is wrong here. Surely they should last longer than that. Any ideas what the problem could be???

Cheers,
