Subject: Burned out idle relay '87 Syncro
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi Folks,

My '87 Syncro is stuck in high idle, 4k rpm.

My trusted mechanic tells me the idle relay is literally burned out.

He says the only available idle relays are from VW and cost $350.

Questions:

Is this idle relay unit available elsewhere?

Should I trust one from a junkyard if I can locate one?

Is it difficult to install; how do you install it?

I'd appreciate any and all insight!

Kind regards,

Don
