<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV> <P>I did my whole install with a kit from Bus Boys. Had to buy wireing, 12" hose extension, dual sender, gauge and mounting. I like the peace of mind of looking over at the gauge. Be warned though, if you use the dual sender the oil light may flash in hot temps at idle because the sensor is calibrated higher. It triggers at like 8psi, were as the vanagon sensor is like 6psi. There are a couple of write ups on vanagon.com.</P> <P>Randy Charrette</P> <P>87' Syncro weekender</P> <P>207,000 miles<BR><BR></P></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV>&gt;From: Greg Stelz <GSTELZ1@YAHOO.COM> <DIV></DIV>&gt;Reply-To: Greg Stelz <GSTELZ1@YAHOO.COM> <DIV></DIV>&gt;To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM <DIV></DIV>&gt;Subject: 2.1 l oil pressure gauge install <DIV></DIV>&gt;Date: Thu, 24 Jan 2002 13:54:30 -0800 <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt;Hi folks, <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt; I am planning to install an oil pressure gauge to <DIV></DIV>&gt;my 86 vanagon. Does any one sell a kit to install <DIV></DIV>&gt;this? Are there many different choices among brands <DIV></DIV>&gt;of gauges/senders, and which is best? Any info about <DIV></DIV>&gt;installation would be greatly appreciated. <DIV></DIV>&gt; My engine has 120k. I have heard that these engines <DIV></DIV>&gt;are notorious for bearing failure b/c of low oil <DIV></DIV>&gt;pressure at 100k+. <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt;Thanks, <DIV></DIV>&gt;Greg Stelz <DIV></DIV>&gt;Columbus, Ohio <DIV></DIV>&gt;86 westy conversion <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt;__________________________________________________ <DIV></DIV>&gt;Do You Yahoo!? <DIV></DIV>&gt;Great stuff seeking new owners in Yahoo!
