Subject: need good vw shop in kansas city-waterpump woes-long
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

so as the subject line would indicate, i was hoping to locate a good shop to take the van to here in kc.vee village has quoted about 285$ to put the pump and thermostat in for(already have the parts). i have not been to this shop before, but the mngr sounded knowledgable on the phone. i thought i could do this myself, but the more i look at it the more i would like someone else to do it. i really don't see how im supposed to get the top pipe leading to the passnger side water jacket off, it slip fits into the ? housing near the pump but a piece of the engine block looks to be blocking its removal, unless it just pulls nicly out of the ? housing, which i seriously doubt...and then there is the ac condenser above it which i don't think will move up very much due to gas and ac lines...so i have not started because i dont think i could finish...pump is still running, so i think i could make the shop without a tow...and i have seen the 1.9 pump replacement page, wish mine looked that easy,no condenser, or looked that way...any help or attempt there of appreciated;)
