Subject: Question about KOLBENSCHMIDT cylinder heads
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Just saw this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=600682228& r=0&t=0

These sellers are auctioning a KOLBENSCHMIDT pair of 2.1l wasserboxer cylinder heads. Price is getting up there. Comparing the cylinder head casting to a set of AMC and original OEM German cylinder heads (spares that I have), they sure look like the AMC heads sold by list vendors for less. I suspect they are just AMC heads repackaged by KOLBENSCHMIDT and sold at a higher price. Also they don't show the valves on the pic, so you can't tell if they have the oem sodium filled valves (with the little dimple in the center) or the less expensive solid steel AMC valves. Does anyone know more about Kolbenschmidt wasserboxer cylinder heads and if they are made in Germany or Spain? Harald '90 westy
