After repairing my '89 Jetta speedo, it is now off by 10 mph consistantly from 0 to 60 mph. I managed to put the needle back on with a slight pre-load of the clock spring. You might try pulling off the speedo needle and doing this intentionally to achieve your corrected reading. The reason I pre-loaded it was after the first repair job, it read about 7 mph slow. Next time I will get it right! Jay

I recently upsized my tires and my speedo is off quite a bit. I'd like to replace the speedo with a nice aftermarket VDO which is adjustable. If that isn't feasible, is it possible to recalibrate the existing spedometer? Thanks, ...Markus |
