If the pump isn't leaking, screeching or vibrating loose on the brackets then its probably OK. Its one of those things that normally fails slowly and the only maintenance is to change the fluid once in a while. If it has never been run dry (ruins bearings) then I wouldn't be too concerned about it. *At last, a Waser boxer question I could answer*
