We take ours out all the time. You need to unscrew the plate that holds down
the carpet at the sliding door. Then if you still have the org carpet in
there,you will have to unscrew the bottom plate that goes to the front
seats. Lift the carpet and then take out the pad (just the pad that is in
the way of the rails). I hope you understood that! I haven't carpet in mine
so long! We usually take our out when we get to our camping location as an
extra couch.
It should slide right out then.
