Karl, You make a good point. We all sometimes forget to feed the humor gland. But yet there is always good information if we look closely at the content. For example, we see how diverse the vanagon group is. We also see how easy it is to offend and be offended. We see how irresistible it is for some to attempt humor at the expense of others and how we seem to accept criticism and insult as a valid form of humor.

One thing a friend is fond of saying is that for people who love animals, why do you eat them? Another friend remarked to me that some vegans still wear leather (leather belts, leather shoes.)

I've only been a member of this vanagon group for two months but I think I have my finger on the pulse of the group as a whole. To me the group seems pretty typical and is a cross section of Americana. I do not think most people intended to insult or flame others, but made a genuine attempt to tickle the funny bone. And also there are a few on this list who are genuinely mean in spirit. I feel sorry for anyone whose life is so filled with unhappiness that they need to publicly insult others. You know who you are and so does everyone on the list because you reveal yourself in how and what you say.

So if you still feel the need to flame, sock it to me. Bring it on. I love it and I love to see who you are. As for me I am done with responding to the one versus the other thread and am only interested in useful content.

I've heard that gland meats are healthy so tomorrow (Friday) I am going to add some humor gland and brain to my veggie meal and sprinkle it liberally with spirulina.
