Yep! Or yes indeed! Well discussed by Darrel Boehler and I in several
exchanges in the archives. To summarize, I use a VDO boost gauge (0 to 30
inches of vacuum and 0 to 15 psi). This is a mechanical pressure gauge with
270 degree sweep. I have connected it to the coolant reservoir tank through
the level control sensor. I run nylon line through to the gauge panel (5
gauges mounted in the heater cover base panel). The entry port into the back
of the gauge is protected with a frit (VDO standard equipment) to stop liquid
injection into the gauge internal structure. I use much of the 1/8 inch OD
nylon tube to maintain a compressible gas column to transfer coolant
pressure. Fast response, great diagnostic, etc., etc. BTW when I first set
this up I used the inexpensive JCW boost gauge. Worked just fine, but it
didn't match the rest of my VDO's.
