Joel Walker suggested:

"not so fast, Grasshopper! :) first, find out exactly where the leak is coming from. it may NOT be the heads ... it could be the plastic dufus flange that vw put on there (where the little hose that goes through the power steering belt meets the engine), or it could simply be a loose/old/tired hose and/or hose clamp........."

Thanks Joel, I'll look. Won't be easy in the dark, but it's been warm enough lately so shouldn't be to hard. Might have to take a day off my FIRST H.S. Robotics project to do this, but hopefully the guys will manage without me. (www.usfirst.org)

Joel, does that lower tin come off easy enough? Can't look now, too late, but could check tomorro.

Consdering SyncroBeast sat for 2 years in a garage, and one year was damp till I figured out to run a fan to keep the humidity down, who knows what has gone on. Lord knows I had to replace enough other things due to rust and corrosion when we got it going last January for the move to New Jersey.

I'm intrigued by the possibility of "Snake Oil" solutions (Mike Barker and Les), but maybe I should look see where it's coming from first.

Underneath I'm seeing:

Right Side, for and aft lower tab on block (tab that used to hold lower cylinder tin on an air cooled engine) drops of antifreeze when the engine runs, slow, but definitely there. drops when I touch with finger tip.

Left side, ditto, but only at the front tab.

Never enough to show on the ground, but then there is no snow here.

I do smell antifreeze right after I stop when driving anywhere, when I walk around to the back.

Temp light blinks, but then it should, since its low on antifreeze, temp runs at the TOP of the light, I think that is a bit higher than normal.
