Steve, It may be of little avail: knowing how weak the government's checks and balances often are, but perhaps in addition to publishing the values on the web (a great idea), it may not hurt to contact the insurance regulators and Consumer Affairs. It's clear that "insurance fraud" works both ways. Tom Naylor
Subject: Insurance Company Info Needed
I am handling a claim for property damage to a 91 syncro westy with very low mileage. They were going to try to get away with a valuation of $9,000 based on "market research" by an "independent" valuation service that is in reality a dupe for and funded by the insurance industry with the goal of ripping as many people off as they can on claims. They acknowledged that Bluebook lists $20,000, "but we don not go by blue Book." [ Editorial Comment: This is just more ENRONITIS, corporate america raping consumers like they are entitled to ... because of the huge campaign contributions they give (instead of paying taxes). And it is how they fund their $200 million CEO salaries with bonuses.] If you have recently had a claim with an insurance company for a total loss, or close, for a syncro westy, or mint westy, please contact me. I am compiling info on valuations given by different companies. I am also collecting prices on recent sales, so any info on sale prices of syncro westys would also be very helpful. Once i gather all of the info, I plan to publish it on syncro.org for the benefit of everyone who might ever have to deal with corporate crooks such as these. Thanks! |
