Well, I started this thread about a month ago and it was great hearing everyone's ideas on this. Well, today, while on the road (actually at my destination which involved urban camping), I needed a shower. Well, the local university was a bit exclusive and wanted an id to get in and shower. The YMCA wanted $140 for a memeber ship. The truckstop was about a half hour away. So, I went to target and bought a rope, shower curtain, rubbermaid container, and a hula hoop. I then poped up the poptop and hung my solar shower (filled with hot water thanks to the gas station) from the latch on the pop top. I then hung the hula hoop and shower curtain from the pop top as well and ran the shower curtain into the rubbermaid. It was perhaps the best shower I have had on the road next to a real one. The only real drawback was the I didn't feel to good about not peeing while showering, but thats not so inconvienent. After done, I decided it worked so well that I bought another shower curtain (one didn't quite make it all the way around) and some carbiners to make the setup a bit quicker. I figure that as long as the weather stays relatively warm, I'll be in great shape with this. If anyone is interested, I'll take some photos of the setup and post them when I get back from my trip. blake |
