General inquiry, no vanagon content.

Suppose, hypothetically of course, that someone left one of their cars parked on the side of the house for maybe six months and while he was away, his ignorant, now ex, wife did nothing to teach her stupid dogs about not jumping on the car in order to look over the fence. When this hypothetical person, call him, uh, Phil, came back to get his car, the windshield was all scratched from the dogs climbing all over it.

Since the damage would likely be to the coating on the glass, and probably not the glass itself, is there anyone who might know of a method to remove or even partially clear up the scratches?

Just wondering in case it ever happens to me, uh, I mean Phil.....

I know its not really vanagon, but there is a lot more wisdom on this list than at the local vendors, so I hope no one minds the OT inquiry.

Thanks a lot,
