On that note....does anyone know where I can get a new sliding door for a 1989 Vanagon. I clipped the side in a Lowell, MA parking garage. I live in Maine, but could travel to get in NE. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin

I wonder how many new Vanagon owners have managed to clip the rear fender well area and/or bumper end-cap because of the quick turning radius and unusual seating position of the driver. Almost every Vanagon I have looked at has been damaged on the curbside (passenger side) anywhere from the sliding door on back.

<BTW my wife love to run up curbs?? whats with wifes and VW's anyway ;)>

Yeah, when I bought my van, my wife wanted to drive it home from the dealer. it was in perfect condition. 15 minutes later, she runs it into a pole at a gas station. Flattened the fender flare on the right rear. I wish I could have measured my blood pressure when she got it home.
