The paint pros use #00 fresh steel wool for taking overspray off the glass.

I don't know the Moh hardness of FE203 but the aluminum oxide on those scotchbrite (tm) pads will scratch just about anything. Saw a former neighbor taking bugs off the front of his new Chevy Blazer with one. I mentioned that it might leave scratches, he said it's ok that his wife uses one on the dishes.

Later I saw him working with a little Dupont #7 rubbing compound.

Sapphire is aluminum oxide nicely arranged.
