I have a 7 passenger and a westy. I camped a lot in the 7pax before getting
the westy, and it was nice to have a slightly wider bed. We have never
missed the space, though, and sleep in the poptop with no problem. I concur
with Doug that the biggest reason we wanted the cabinets was to contain the
"stuff" in the event of an accident and just to reduce clutter. It's
amazing how quickly the floor gets unusable otherwise. I use my sink,
stove, and fridge every time I go out, and they are great. I think the
fridge is big enough, especially if you're a vegetarian. I'M KIDDING--THAT
WAS A JOKE!!! Seriously, I lived in Germany for a while (the land of small
fridges) and learned how to make it work. I think resale is also higher
with the westy interior.
Now if I could only figure out a way to restrain my two labs in the event of
an accident--tried the doggie seatbelt harnesses once--yeah, right! Took me
an hour to get them untangled from each other and out of the van again...
