Nathan, I just went through this and I actually still have a "humming" in the back... I had a buz coming from the pump. Van had 159K on it at the time. I had the exact same concerns as you and dropped the $160.00 for a brand new Bosch (not remanufactured) pump. Put it in and guess what, started to buzz about 3 days after I put it in. I do believe that it actually is the way the pump is mounted, not the pump it self. I will be putting (as soon as it warms up around here) a rubber band (from an old bike tire tube) around the pump to stop the humming between the metal can of the pump and the metal bracket. I will let you know what happens...
