In my youth I was the parts mgr. at a motorcycle shop, which sold English, as well as Spanish, and Japanese Bikes.

Pretty much rule of thumb, was the Brit bikes, most of everthing was interchangable, and everthing except sheet metal, was availble for more than 10 years. Now the Land of the Rising Sun and the Spanish bikes, were short term on the aviailability factor---Bultaco, because they just didn't have the finaces to have a large warehouse network, and the Yamaha, and Bridgestone's, becase they had so many different models, they became obsolete, as soon as they were sold, almost.

Allot of the stuff was interchangable as far as engine, and electrical stuff, but the rest of it was almost imposible to get after, a couple of years.

I know VW is elimating inventory, or letting it deplete on the Bus and the Vanagon stuff--as soon as the stock runs out--finito--on the parts.

They are making room for the new iventory for later model parts.

Andall this reliable info came from my buddy the parts mgr. at my local VW dealer.

And now yo know the rest of the story----

Later,
