Volks, Started my van today and a loud buzzing sound came from the engine compartment. Drove a mile or so and stopped. Turned the key off and the sound continued. Popped the engine compartment open and the sound was definitely from there, very loud, much like the radiator fan on high. After a few more minutes the sound gradually diminished and died out. Tried to start and had a dead flat battery. Jumped it from the coach battery and it started right up, ran fine, no noise. Hasn't done it since. Question: How soon should I rebuild the starter, or should I get a new one? [The only thing I know of that is hooked directly to the battery is the starter, I'm assuming solenoid. Correct?] TIA Mike |
