I just realized that I have now been afflicted with Vanagonitis for two years now. I bought my 86 Westfalia in February 2000 and my 87 Syncro 7 passenger in February 2001. There is no way I could own these things without the wonderful help of this list. I've learned a lot about Vanagons and a lot about people too. To quote Bilbo Baggins: "I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve." It's a wierd world I've been drawn into, this place is! My special thanks to the people from all over the world who have been helpful - especially Rainer Woitok in Germany and Chris Mundy in Australia. And those kooky Canucks I've talked to - Trevor Reid (Skylight Guy), Marshall Ruskin, Alistair Bell and Tim Smith have been wonderful, and those in my own backyard - like Gary Lee, Glen Cook, Serge Laplante and David Marshall. And anyone I've left out ;-) I am looking forward to getting my garage built this summer and take care of some of the pressing issues on the Westy. I'm selling my Syncro - as I've done what I can on it and would prefer to focus on the Westy (mind, a new viscous coupling, and CV joints and jazz isn't minor work on the Syncro either!). I don't know how many megabytes of messages I have saved in the "good ideas for future file". I gotta start digging into that file! You are a bunch of wonderful people - and those of you who aren't, there's lots of room in the deleted messages folder ;-) You keep the vans ticking along, and keep me laughing. Cheers!
