I have a 82' Westy diesel that has a slight steering issue and  I don't
know much about rack and pinion steering.  When nudging a curb the wheel
is violently ripped from my grip and the van will swerve with a sudden
wind.  Tie rod ends seem to check out.  Initially I thought steering
dampner however, there isn't one.  What does this mean?  Thanks,
