That's an intriguing idea -- do you have any long-term experience with the results? Are you reliably able to get oil to the felt pad inside the motor frame?

I've driven the blower rotor off the shaft to get to these bearings. A considerable nuisance, but has seemed to work ok, lasted well.

For the folks who'd like to put oil tubes in so one could oil the motor without disassembling the dash -- think about boring the end of the motor shaft with a small transverse hole at the end of the bore at the same depth as the felt oil pad -- a thin brass tube might be a loose sliding fit in the bore, and be fitted so that it would mate with the flexible tube coming from the external oiling point. Would be a lot of trouble and involve disassembling the motor, but I bet it could be made to work.
