Subject: Ahh... It's Monday morning and the bus won't start!
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

'Morning all- I finally made it to work (had to get a lift from one of the partners), so I figured now is the time to solicit advice... I went out to start the car about 8:15, it was frosted over this morning, so I had let the gas heater run on the timer to clear the windows. Anyway, I got in it and fired it up, and it died after a couple seconds, as it is wont to do when it's cold (the bus has a Weber 2bbl conversion). Usually it fires up again and stays running, but this time it would do nothing of the sort. I got to listening, though, and noticed that the electric fuel pump sounded "funny;" as in much quieter than usual. Kind of like it was bogging down or something. I popped the engine cover off, and noticed there was no fuel visible in the small filter forward of the carb. So I'm guessing the pump is bad, but do they just go out like that? I drove the bus about eighty miles yesterday on the highway at about 70mph, and had absolutely no problems. Could the problem be cold-related? There's a larger fuel filter forward of the pump, but is there a way to see if the pump is clogged? Or should I just plan on replacing it? TIA-

JJ
