Terry, loosen the cap again. If that cures it, then at least you know the voodoo actually is related to the coolant pressure. If not, you can start looking at connections, grounds, internally busted wires etc. that you may have disturbed while working on the pipes.

re the OXS, it shouldn't blink anyway AFAIK -- but regardless, it's just a light connected to a switch in the speedo cable, doesn't actually do a single thing except light up every N thousand miles (N = 30 or 60 depending on year).
