Subject: Re: Help! - Coolant spilling on long drives

Well.

Thanks to everyone who has responded to my post about my coolant spilling on long drives. At least now I have ideas on what to look for and possible ways to solve it. Here are the different ideas that people proposed. They are listed from easiest/cheapest to most expensive and time consuming:

- Make sure the coolant system is completely bleed of air. - Tighten all hose clamps. - Replace the expansion tank cap. - Check compression and replace head gaskets if necessary. - (Best option, never drive out of town and over 55 mph) :)

A local mechanic in Sacramento that I respect told me he has seen this happen if the coolant system is completely bleed of air. So this is my first step. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm hoping that I'll get around to responding to each of you emails individually. Thanks for all of the help. If you have any other ideas please let me know.

Thanks again,

Blake Heinlein
