I have a 2 barrel progressive Solex carb on my 91, and in winter it nearly always starts right up - then dies - then fires up - dies - for about 3 times, then it just purrs along. It needs to warm up before driving.

I also had the Fuel Pump failure. it would cut out randomly, and then come back after about 5 minutes - till it just quit!. We are lucky as we can buy low pressure (cheaper) FPs.

IIWY I'd try replacing the 2 fuel filters (I also run 2 filters) first, before you spend the $$ for a new fuel pump. I now carry a spare fuel pump where ever I go, you might want to start doing this too. They are easy to install, you can do it, road side, with a few tools. Malcolm
