I just replaced the wheel bearings on my '84. I think what this is referring to is the indentation on the shaft, and how the nut must be bent into that indentation so it does not come loose. I just used an old (not so sharp) flat headed screw driver and a hammer to bent the shoulder of the nut into the groove.

Ok I am ready to install a new disc on each front axel. After reviewing Bently one thing still perplexes me... How does one "peen" the front axel nut? Hit it with a hammer but where, in the middle, on the end, with a pin of some sort to direct the blow... ????
