We do this one several times a year at my local wrecker. There are probably three or four Vanagon fans in the area and I have friends that call me via cell phone from the yard to tell me about a Vanagon that has just newly arrived. I show up with tools and inspect the beast and then (if it is a diesel or something extra special like a Carat) I spend all day stripping it down. It is a race because if I don't strip it that day, the chances are that I would come there the next day to find someone else had beaten me to the punch. It is a fun sport to break up the monotony:)
