before. :<)     too bad VW engineeers couldnt spend their time on more
important "after the fact" fixes, such as the leaky head problem..

Actually I have found these useful on my '90 and '91.  On the '85 I had, it
wasn't uncommon to find that I somehow had caught the seatbelt in the door
(especially if you have weak retractor springs).  Haven't done that on
either of the newer vans yet.


As for head problems, they did fix it, it's called the I-4 and I-5 engines
sold in SA vanagons, and the I-4 in the Mexican T2.  They just never got
around to doing the right thing and replacing all of the ones they sold!
