Thanks exactly what I am running on my 90' Westy automatic.
I like the automatic because I can actually eat a taco while driking coffee
and talking on a cell phone at the same time.

I need to turn a little over 4000 rpms to go 70 mph in
my ' 91 automatic.
The trans. works perfectly and I can recomend it.

Hi guys... I was wondering about the pros/cons of switching my vanagon from
a
4 speed manual to an automatic.  I have a Tiico conversion installed and
running very well, but I'd just like to have an automatic.  I not concerned
with quickness, but I am concerned with highway cruising.  Right now my 4
speed is truning approx 3800 rpms at 70 mph.  Will the rpms be close to the
same at this speed?  Any advice is welcome.
