Subject: eBay Adventurewagen:Si?..No!!
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Discussion Re: Engine compartment fire in '84 VW VanagonGL Adventurewagen: Decision Time. Wish this eBay FS critter were in San Diego--eBay: 601983147; bid is over but reserve amount not reached last I checked...Moot Point, however, as is pointed out in: CA Dep.Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Automotive Repair/Smog, where California's lengthy&complex smog requirements make out-of-state vehicles a virtual impossibility; plus, the seller must complete the smog for the buyer: Just HOW is someone in Mississippi to do THAT?

Question: Should I buy a vanagon with good engine & reassemble the Adventurewagen parts into IT? (The insurance adjuster's getting me GOOD on the buy-back amount!)---OR---find a rebuilt engine, alt., water pump, etc., hoses, etc, & wiring harness, etc. & hope to rebuild my burned critter with what funds I have left (after loan pay-off & buy-back?) --OR--Does someone out there want my critter--AsIsBySaturday!-- for $1,200.00 and I'll go find a ToyotaTruck or something?!
