I read recently on the list about insulating the O2 sensor wire splice w/
rtv silicone.  This got me thinking how handy it would be to be able to
make a nice waterproof protective coating on many electrical connections I
make on and off the van.  So what is the appropriate goop to use for this
that will adequately insulate the conductors for 12v DC.  How about 120v
AC?  I love to use this stuff I get at the DIY warehouse type stores.  It
is an acrylic latex caulk.  Warrantied for 35 years, says ALEX on the tube,
I think it might be a DAP product.  It is only about $1.50 a standard
caulking gun tube, and dries clear.  I find it to be a great gap filler and
adhesive too.  Wonder what it's insulating properties are...
