You know, I think its funny in a way, but OTOH, since I use ebay a lot, I may be a bit put off by the way people are abusing it with this ridiculous product. According to the contract one agrees to in order to bid, the corn-head that bid 500,1000,000.00 or whatever it is, is legally liable for paying that amount.

Yes, he certainly never will, and who would expect him to, but in the end, what good are rules and laws in a society if no one obeys them?? If this person gets out of paying, then all of us can do the same and ebay will lose credibility. Its a bit disconcerting that some of the bidders have high marks on their feedback pages. Perhaps I am missing something in the overall joke?

Next time one of us tries to sell some vanagon parts on ebay and a bunch of "anti-vanagons" <g> decides to play around and bid a million dollars, it might cost someone a part that they really need.

I must be in some kind of a mood, because normally this would be cute :) I wonder if I am going through 'the change?'

Oh well, just my $85,999.38 worth <shrug>

John
