Subject: strange idle
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"

Hi, I've got an 85 with a <5,000 mi GEX engine. I don't drive it much as I'm a short bike ride to work. Lately it has taken to kind of throbbing at idle. That is, it hovers around 1,000 rpms, then revs to 2k, then back down again. rrrrrrrRAUrrrrrrrrRAUrrrrrrrrrRAU etc. rrrrrr=1k, RAU=2k. It seems to occur when the engine is cold or has been stopped, and restarted. It goes away after some hiway driving. I need to figure this out to pass emissions testing. Any suggestions? It is safe to say I know nothing about how the idle system works, but am not afraid to tinker. -Merrick Tucson, AZ
