Go 75,000 miles on a Subaru timing belt and your looking for trouble---

My Honda Goldwing needs a belt every 45 to 50 k, and so does my BMW 325---a Subaru belt isn't any better than the two I mentioned----

An engine is as good as the guy who is maintaining it----let stuff go, and so will the engine.

I agree that the wasserboxer isn't as bulletproof as a Chevy V8---for a hard pull, at high speeds---but I really don't know of too many Chevy's with 180--200 k plus miles on them, and still running, without billowing large plumes of oil out their tailpipe----

Now lets talk Beemer, or Mercedes--- BIG miled, hammer down engines----

Forget the Subau's----lame ducks in comparison---

I wonder if I can shoe horn an Etta-E30 into my Van?--:>)
