When Sean says "great heat" is this the Arizona definition of good heat? I imagine the heat coming from an engine in Arizona (what are average winter low temps there?) would seem like much more than the same amount of heat coming through in, say, a Michigan February cold night. I have also had a bunch of air-cooleds, and the heat is more than enough as long as temps don't fall below 35 degrees Fahrenheit or so. But, here where we regularly see NEGATIVE temps in winter, I still freeze my air-cooled b*lls off!! Peace, John Baker

OK, what's the real story on these air-cooled Vanagons? Do they REALLY heat or not? My only point of reference comes from the hours of misery I spent wiping the inside of the windshield in my girlfriend's Beetle many winters ago. If we had waited for the defrosters to clear the windows after we stopped for some fun and games, we would still be sitting there shivering and smoking our cigarettes.
