Hi Andrew,

Just for reference, I recently bought an '87 Vanagon GL for $1800.00 with auto trans, pw, pb, pl, working air conditioning, 160k, with 85k on a rebuild. I did need to replace my 2nd gear brake band seals and O-rings on the transmission right away, but otherwise, it's running fine. There were no significant dents, the interior is in almost like new condition, the white paint faded and in need of a paint job. Bottom line, the Vanagon you're considering sounds way overpriced, all things considered.
