Subject: Spare Tire Carrier of Interest To Me

A spare tire carrier I like the look of is the Isuzu Rodeo carrier -- the version that swings away to the left.

Take a look at this next time you are on the highway.

They look great, are incredibly beefy, and most importantly, swing away to the left side of the vehicle rather than to the right.

While camping, any spare tire carrier that swings to the right will get old fast as you have to walk around it every time you need to get into the rear hatch.

The main modification I would see to use this carrier is that the mounting metal pieces are shaped to the shape of the Isuzu rather than the Vanagon.

Accordingly, these mounts would need to be either grinded into Vanagon shape, or replaced with actual VW OEM mounts or something similar. They are fairly huge, so the grinding thing might just work. _______________________________________________ Derek Drew CEO & Co-Founder http://www.ConsumerSearch.com/ New York, NY & Washington DC ============================ Best Consumer Advice Site PC World Magazine, Aug. 2001, ============================ ConsumerSearch is Best Newsweek, Nov. 5, 2001 ============================ derekdrew@rcn.com 212-580-6486
