Unfortunately, I don't have any further info on the new VW concept Van. I just want to put in my 2 cents worth.

I own an '87 Vanagon GL now. A lot of my motivation, other than limited practical reasons, is that I like the appearance of the Vanagon. It's unique and IMHO a design classic.

Can't say that about the Eurovan. Maybe it's more practical and certainly more powerful than the Vanagon, but it looks bloated and just way too ordinary - it isn't sufficiently different from any number of other contempory vans. I feel that way especially regarding the post '95 incarnations. I realize they're trying to give it a contemporary VW Family (Golf) appearance, but feel they've failed miserably. The wheels and wheel wells are so tiny, it reminds me of an old fashioned roller skate.

The concept vehicle, on the other hand, is much more visually unique and exciting, and relates more to the new VW bug (which I love.) I went to the SF Auto Show and was very disappointed to not see the van on display there.
