Yes, same thing at the Toronto Auto Show. VW had a pale impact. Same displays as in Chicago. No concept designs at all. No Microbus :- ( I wish they would bring back the Vanagon with a hybrid mulltifuel-electric-hydrogen cell engine and AWD. Audi section had a cutaway of the mototronic transmission. New Audi A2 1.4 TDi (all aluminum frame) is very cool! Many people crowded around the BMW (Mini fever), Mercedes, the many $200K and up new models and Daimler-Chrysler concept vehicles (yuck). The alternative fuel section was very cool for me; hydrogen cell, hybrid and solar cars but none of the crowd seemed to take much notice. I don't think I would buy very much of anything on display at the show. Then again I'm not a rich man. I love my vanagon and prefer to find ways to help it last FOREVER. I-4 engine conversion most likely coming soon, due to minor (?) intermittent head leaks. I haven't posted much to this list, but I certainly appreciate the kind spirit of most of you and I have learned alot in three years as a result. (Some of the wacko long threads notwithstanding, although nobody's brought up where-do-you-keep-your-gun in a long while)

The very best to you all,

Bill James '84 Westy '76 BMW 2002 (and it peeved me greatly that at the 2002 auto show BMW didn't display one of these)
