Gosh, Ken. This seems like the ultimate troll, and it's not even close to Friday. I'll bite anyway. It seems like a lot of conversions are being made with used engines pulled from cars headed to the junkyard. I don't follow the Subaru conversion list, so I'm sure that I'm not seeing the complete picture. I'm not so sure that you can accurately assess the relative merits of the Subaru engine from the longevity of junkyard pulls. It seems to me that installing one of these "junk" engines is a good intermediate step to a new (and very expensive) or rebuilt engine. Most of the time, you can get the complete wiring harness and ECU from the donor vehicle for minimal cost. Try ordering that from the Subaru dealer. Those would be converters that gave up before they got the wiring harness sorted out are probably very happy that they didn't spring for a NEW 2.2 Subaru!
