Well, I spent the big wad of cash for the Westy
tonight.  I've spent more, but not recently, and not
all in one chunk...

Ordered New
Sewfine Carpet kit(10p) in smoke (said they had 4
v'gons order Smoke in the last week)
VW Floormats (black, 2 piece)
Front brake pads
Rear Brake Pads
Rear brake hardware kit
Shift Linkage Kit
Engine Gasket Set

So - with my new purchases, I have a question.  What
kind / brand / viscosity grease do you use in the
linkage bushings?  I never used the proper grease when
replacing linkage in other vehicles, and after a year
or so it starts to show, and it is stiff when it is
cold (used hi-temp CV grease)....

Also - anything funky with the VW brakes?  I've done
VW disc, drum and e-brake repair, replacement and
caliper rebuilds, but not on my van.  I had them done
by a 'pro' when I first got the van and was too scared
to change the oil ;)  Ohhhh that seems like a long
time ago.

That's all for now - I'm sure I will have a ton of
questions once I get into replacing the various engine
seals and gaskets.   Great questions like "Why do I
have 2 extra head bolts?"

Plans for the weekend - fabricate a single sealed
subwoofer enclosure out of a replacement rear seat
panel.  Should be a kick!
Plans for next weekend - Mountain Biking in Sedona!
