Pardon me if I posted this to this list before, but I received no responses from here.

OK, I'm starting a project here. Because of the apparently wide Variation in published information, I'm gathering info from Westy owners on factory recommended tire size and tire preasure. I'm doing this because, based on the archives of the several Vanagon/Westfalia list, there seems to be different info from van to van, year to year. What I would like is for owners of Westy's (non Westy Vanagons also) to go out, look at the tire info on the sticker in the drivers door, copy it down, and then e-mail directly to me the following info: Type: Westy or Vanagon Syncro: Yes or No Year: Registration or Model Year Date Manufactured: Month/Year Recommended Tire Size: (like 185/75 R14, etc) Recommended Tire Inflation: Front=??, Rear=??

I'll gather this info together once I have it and put it up in the WetWesties archives for all to refer to.

Please, I'm not interested, at this point, in what tires you are running, what tires were bad, what Joe runs for tire pressure, etc. There is plenty of opinion, folklore, "absolute truth", about tires on Westy's in the various archives. I'm looking for the actual info that VW put on the vans.

Thanks
