I finally got my starter back in after having it tested. I also had the battery checked and it was bad. I may have a short somewhere as the battery was only about 3 months old. I had the alternator tested about a month ago and it was fine.

I got it all back together and re-timed it. It idled perfectly and I test drove it to the store for some smokes. Half way home I lost power. I idled it (that's all it would do) home and when I took my foot off the pedal, it died and wouldn't start. That was the same thing that happened to my wife last week when we had to have it towed home from her place of employment.

I know it could be alot of things but before I pull out my Bentley and test equipment, has anyone had this particular problem before and if so, what was the cause? I read the Fuel Injection section in my son' s Auto Shop Manual the other night so I have a better understanding of Multi-port Injection and the many controls used. My guess is that the injectors are either not getting enough fuel from the system or not getting the right signal from the ECU or one of the sensors. I don't suspect the ignition system as it had enough spark to idle home.

Thanks,
