Hey again, For a couple of months now (in my spare time) I've been working on a fiberglass scoop for passenger side engine vent on my '87 van. I have a 1.9 td and I mounted a mesa style oil cooler in front of the right side tail light and in an effort to duct more air flow over the cooler (I cut the tin out beneath the cooler which lays flat and is separated from the engine compartment by a removable tin section) I decided to go with a scoop. Since there were none available for the Vanagons (as opposed to the buses) I fabricated my own. Well almost. I have plug done, and in the next few weeks will use it to make a mold, which I will then use to make a scoop (or two, three, etc.) Just trying to find out if there's any interest in a passenger side scoop out there or a matched pair as that's the next project, a scoop for the driver's side as that's where the intercooler ended up (in front of the left tailight.) Anybody interested? Mark Thoma no pictures yet, but I guarantee these things will be pretty cool.
