Folks, On the vanagon.com site it says: "For off-road driving, a steel wheel will take a beating where an alloy would deform. Several mailing list users have recommended this tire for off-road use." If this is true, what's the point of getting alloy wheels at all, beyond asthetics? Most Synchros I've seen on the web seem to have alloys, which would tend to contradict the quote above. Anybody else buy the GoWesty alloy wheel and tire package? I've heard from only one person who said he bought them (and loves them).
