After checking the archives and polling the list on tires recently, I replaced all four tires (the back two were totally gone when we purchased the vanagon) with the Costco brand (Kirkland's made by Uniroyal) LT's (195/75-14) for 62.99 a tire. That price includes balancing, lifetime rotation, the tire fees (non sales tax) and road hazard coverage. I haven't given them a long-term test but on highway or local roads they handle great and are not that noisy. So far, I'm very pleased. Check the archives for further opinions.
