Subject: BA6 Heater vs. Regular Heat
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Greetings List,

A question if I may. I am currently in the process of pulling a BA6 auxiliary heater out of my vanagon. It does not work and I have no idea, nor the inclination to see why. I moved to the gulf coast from Canada, and am not all to interested in heat as you might expect. What I am curious about is the regular heating ability of my van. I have ridden in many VW bugs of the 70's and found the heater to be completely adequate. Of course I realize there is a bit more cubic meters of interior space in my van to be heated however. Can one even notice the heat in a van agon when the factory heater is used alone? I would not know for neither of them worked for me...yes, that was indeed a very cold winter in Canada. We do indeed have winters down here, but nothing to compare with those farther north. So just a little heat would be enough to please me.

Any input would be appreciated. What I am looking forward too however, (with regards to climate control), is the hopeful addition of an air conditioning system. This would be a far more appreciated addition to my van than a gas heater. Besides, I feel air cooled engines have enough "potential" sources of combustion as it is. I do not need another device which may contribute to unwanted flames in my van. heh

Thanks all.
